WHO WE ARE

WHAT IS THIS GROUP?

We are a group of pastors from Southeastern Wisconsin who share a like-minded vision of the local church and its mission/ministry. We define this vision we share according to the principles of 9Marks and their Nine Marks of a Healthy Church: Expositional Preaching, Gospel Doctrine, Conversion & Evangelism, Church Membership, Church Discipline, Discipleship & Growth, Leadership, Prayer, and Missions. This fellowship is fairly informal and has no official connection to 9Marks. We simply subscribe to their philosophy of ministry and use it to broadly define the convictions we share as a group.

WHO IS THIS FELLOWSHIP FOR?

In general, Reformed-leaning baptistic pastors in SE Wisconsin who value the 9Marks of a healthy church are welcome to join this fellowship. It is a fellowship of pastors, not necessarily churches ─ although we do hope that natural collaboration will take place between churches as a result of the group. We also try to focus on the central tenets of the 9Marks philosophy, rather than the more peripheral values. For example, some pastors are committed to a single service, but not all of them. However, all of us are committed to expositional preaching and church membership (two of the nine marks).

WHAT DO WE DO TOGETHER?

We try to prioritize at least 3 general purposes together…

1. Personal encouragement and support in pastoral life & ministry.

We get together regularly to share how life and ministry is going and to spur one another on in the faith.

2. Sharing edifying content and engaging in discussions that sharpen us.

Most of our meetings revolve around a previously-planned discussion related to doctrine or ministry.

3. Providing a helpful starting point for collaboration between churches.

Pastors are encouraged, but not obligated, to work together in things like: developing leaders, doing outreach, providing preaching opportunities, missions work, church planting, etc.
